Mollie B Polka Party

The Mollie B Polka Party airs Sundays at 9:30pm ET on RURAL TV

Mollie Busta, popular performer from the Jim Busta Band and Squeezebox, is host of the weekly RFD-TV Polka show, the Mollie B Polka Party.  The one-hour program features the nation’s top polka bands and a wide-variety of ethnic styles produced on location at music festivals from around the country.  Along with Ted Lange, Mollie B serves as Creative Director in expanding and improving RFD-TV’s prime-time polka programming.

The first tapings of the Mollie B Polka Party took place in Wahoo, Nebraska from June 13-16, 2011 at the Starlight Ballroom.  RFD-TV used six high-definition cameras for the production, making it the first polka broadcasts to be shot and aired in true 1080i HD.  Over 24 different bands were recorded over the four days, including 2-hour sets by the Polka Nuts, the Jim Busta Band and Squeezebox.

Mollie B helps introduce each band on camera, as well as interacting extensively with the audience.  For tickets to upcoming Mollie B events visit the Mollie B events page by clicking here.

Mollie B and her team have taped in Frankenmuth, Michigan; Wahoo, Nebraska; and Rothschild, Wisconsin.  They are looking into more venues to host the Mollie B Polka Party tapings in 2012.

“We are so excited to have Mollie bring her talents and knowledge of polka music to RFD-TV/RFD HD” stated Patrick Gottsch, Founder & President of Rural Media Group, Inc.  “Mollie’s passion and enthusiasm for polka music is infectious, and I have no doubt that our large polka-loving audience is going to embrace Mollie’s fresh approach and new ideas to take polka to the next level that RFD-TV’s viewers have been requesting for quite some time now.”

“I am so proud to now be a part of the RFD-TV team”, added Mollie Busta.  “In many ways, I believe that I have been training for this opportunity nearly all my life.  Over the past 10 years, no television channel has done more for polka music than RFD-TV.  Ted and I, along with the support of polka bands from all corners of this great country, look forward to helping RFD-TV take polka music into its next decade.”

“Our goal is to put the best polka entertainment of all genres on RFD-TV, while at the same time, providing tremendous exposure and an opportunity for the bands to potentially book more engagements and sell more ‘product’” added Ted Lange.  “This will be a true partnership with the entire polka community to showcase the variety of polka music that is out there.  We hope more viewers can grow an appreciation for the different styles of polka music, and build on RFD-TV’s success."
